Walking Tour of Montgomery’s Halifax

While Anne of Green Gables encourages thousands to travel to Prince Edward Island every year, this beloved red-haired heroine was actually born in Nova Scotia. Her creator, L.M. Montgomery, has ties to Nova Scotia as well: Montgomery studied at Dalhousie College (now University) and wrote for a newspaper chain (in the building that now houses the Old Triangle pub). Montgomery re-imagined her university experience in Anne of the Island (the third book in the Anne series), in which Anne attends Kingsport's Redmond College (a fictionalized version of Halifax's Dalhousie).
